About The Entry

Entopion is a family-run olive producer based in Messinia, operating on a small scale with direct involvement in both cultivation and production. Olive oil, Kalamata olives, and olive paste are produced exclusively from the family’s own fields, following practices shaped by long-term experience rather than industrial volume.

The name Entopion was developed as part of the brand identity and refers to something local, specific, and close to its point of origin. It expresses production that is grounded rather than abstract, connected to a particular landscape, a particular family, and a clearly defined way of working. Paired with the family name Kapsampelis, the name situates the products within a personal lineage and an identifiable origin, reinforcing transparency and accountability.

The label is treated as a piece of paper used by the producer to record notes. Handwritten elements appear as comments, short observations, signatures, and small annotations, suggesting information captured during the production process itself. This layer introduces authorship and human presence. The intention is not to imitate craftsmanship, but to reflect the reality of a family operation where decisions remain personal and responsibility is visible.

Beneath this handwritten surface sits a photographic image of an olive tree trunk. Used consistently across olive oil, olives, and olive paste, the image creates visual continuity throughout the range. The focus on the trunk, rather than the fruit or landscape, emphasises materiality, time, and cultivation. The photograph functions as a factual marker of origin, anchoring the products to a specific agricultural context.

Typography is restrained and legible, allowing the handwritten notes and photographic element to carry the narrative weight. Colour is used sparingly, supporting clarity and cohesion rather than expression. The same visual system is applied across bottles and jars, ensuring that all products read as a unified family.

Each package also carries the Kapsampelis family emblem, designed as a corporate mark depicting the family tending the olive trees and bearing the year of establishment. Its presence presents olive products as the result of land, work, and personal involvement, empowering the small producer while honouring the Kapsampelis family heritage.
