The "Chong zhi chang" Digital-Intelligent Sensing Campus project is strategically located at the historic Bauhaus-style Wenyuan Building of Tongji University. Named after the mathematician Zu Chongzhi, the project bridges architectural heritage with the digital age. Its core philosophy centers on creating the world’s first outdoor intelligent spatial prototype, the "Intelligent Field," transforming static physical spaces into dynamic environments capable of real-time perception, analysis, and optimization.

The project implements an "Intelligent Field" system featuring four-dimensional all-domain sensing. By deploying integrated smart hardware nodes—such as smart pillars and invisible sensors—across a spatial grid, the system monitors noise levels, crowd density, temperature, and even the user "happiness index". Supported by a proprietary SaaS platform and a Digital Twin dashboard, the system utilizes a closed feedback loop to automatically calibrate lighting and climate control, maximizing both comfort and productivity.

The project boasts "Five Pioneering Firsts," including the integration of historical heritage with AI sensing, cross-platform IoT and digital twin synergy, and emotional-response environmental control. Beyond technical innovation, it introduces the "Data as Curriculum" concept, turning the campus into a living textbook for students in AI and urban planning. This initiative enhances collective well-being while significantly reducing the campus carbon footprint through demand-based resource management.
