About The Entry
Rooted in the architectural philosophy of "Constructing a Landscape Realm with Jiangnan Charm", this lighting design deeply aligns with the courtyard-style layout and cultural complex identity of the "Four Museums & One Center". Guided by the core principle "Light Inherits Cultural Context, Shadow Sculpts Landscapes", it weaves the tranquility of West Lake, the rhythm of Qiantang River, and the profoundness of Liangzhu Civilization into a modern light-and-shadow narrative. Achieving triple resonance between lighting, architecture, nature, and humanity, the design crafts a nighttime cultural landmark that merges Jiangnan poetry with contemporary vitality—acting as a pivotal echo and extension of the building’s "100-year design standard for structure and durability".Design Implementation: Symbiotic Dialogue Between Light, Shadow & Architecture.1. Roof Eaves: Mirroring the Mountain Skyline.Inspired by "rolling mountain ranges", the roof’s lighting employs 2700K warm yellow illumination to accentuate the eaves, seamlessly following the undulating contours of the blue-gray roof tiles. This not only upholds the elegant aesthetic of "white walls and black tiles" inherent to Jiangnan architecture but also embodies the "welcoming demeanor" of the courtyard layout through warm, inclusive light—forging a cross-spatial aesthetic dialogue with West Lake’s nightscape.2. Facade Texture: Reimagining Landscape Layering.Targeting the building’s composite exterior (concrete + stone), layered wall-washing lighting with precision beam control articulates the facade’s rich textures through light-shadow contrasts. It masterfully captures the architectural essence of "resembling rolling mountains in Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains (a classic Chinese landscape painting) from afar", transforming the nighttime facade into a three-dimensional extension of natural scenery.3. Atrium Curtain Wall: Decoding Liangzhu’s Cultural DNA.The atrium’s glass curtain wall features 4000K cool white inward glow, directly echoing the Liangzhu jade cong (a ritual jade artifact) shape and the "Heaven is Round, Earth is Square" philosophy at the main entrance of Zhejiang Museum Zhijiang Branch. Leveraging cutting-edge light-and-shadow technology, it replicates the warm translucency of ancient jade—creating a symbiotic dialogue with the building’s Liangzhu cultural symbols. This unique cultural lighting signature breathes new life into the ancient civilization after dark.
