Located in Jinan, Shandong Province—a region celebrated as China's "Land of Etiquette and Ceremonies" The design leverages the site's abundant natural landscape, adhering to a philosophy of minimal intervention: preserving the holistic terrain structure, adapting to the mountain's natural contours, and respecting the existing vegetation patterns.

With the core concept "Hermitage at Mid-Mountain: An Ode to Oriental Elegance", masterplan draws inspiration from the "Five-Progression" courtyard sequence of Prince Gong's Mansion, perpetuating the axial symmetry and ritualistic order of traditional gate-and-court etiquette, while evoking the refined artistic conception of classical Shanshui gardens.

Leveraging the site’s inherent topographic variations, the design integrates plants, flowing water, and artfully placed rockeries to offer a contemporary landscape interpretation of classical Chinese paintings such as Twin Pines in a Distant Vista and Travelers among Mountains and Streams, creating a fluid, artistic realm of shanshui painting in motion.

Every detail of craftsmanship honors China’s Intangible Cultural Heritage and time-honored artisanal techniques, imbuing the space with the enduring, evocative resonance of millennia-old cultural lineage.
