About The Entry
For individuals who require long-term bed rest, routine hygiene care presents a significant challenge. For caregivers, transferring patients from a nursing bed to a wheelchair is not only physically demanding but also carries substantial risk. In China, over 70% of caregivers are female, and only around 60% have more than three years of professional experience, increasing the likelihood of improper handling during transfers. These difficulties elevate safety risks such as skin abrasions, muscle strain, and accidental injury, while also contributing to fear and anxiety among bedridden patients, negatively affecting both their physical and psychological well-being.
This system integrates a nursing bed and a wheelchair, enabling caregivers to safely and efficiently transfer users between the two. Through a cross-linked structural mechanism and a modular mattress system, the bed and wheelchair achieve seamless alignment and stable support during transfer, reducing physical strain and minimizing secondary injury risks. The wheelchair is fully wrapped in waterproof materials from top to bottom, allowing users to sit or lie comfortably while receiving assisted bathing and hygiene care.
