2025 Christmas & 2026 Lunar New Year Lightscape — Toucheng

Using light as a brush, the project sketches the pulse of the city, allowing art to flow naturally into everyday life and subtly transform every corner. Through vibrant colors and dazzling luminous design, the light art installations introduce festive atmospheres for both Christmas and the Lunar New Year into the cityscape. With creativity and innovative visual language, the designers shape a distinctive identity for Toucheng, narrowing the distance between the city and its residents, between daily life and artistic expression. For Christmas 2025, the “Christmas Tree” serves as the visual centerpiece. Surrounding decorative lighting and scenographic installations create a layered and joyful festive atmosphere, forming a focused thematic space. In front of the township office plaza stands a 9-meter-tall elegant pink Christmas tree. Playful illuminated reindeer gather around it, adding vitality and delight to the celebration. Residents and visitors are invited to take commemorative photos with the Christmas tree, reindeer, carriage, and Santa Claus, sharing festive joy together. Dedicated interactive photo zones are arranged around the site, allowing visitors to engage closely with the grand central tree and reindeer light panels, capturing memorable winter moments amid dazzling illumination. Light art themes include Starlit Snow Dance, Cheerful Welcome Path, and Warm Holy Glow. The overall design enhances streetscape attraction and spatial identity, while participation through photography and sharing extends festive discourse and urban charm. Continuing the joyful resonance of Christmas, the festive atmosphere seamlessly transitions into the 2026 Lunar New Year. Under the theme “Galloping Toward Success · Welcoming the New Spring,” auspicious red vocabulary and traditional lantern elements are integrated into the streetscape, dressing the familiar city environment in warm and celebratory attire. Lighting themes include Soaring Steed in Auspicious Clouds, Festive Streetscape, Leaping Toucheng, Starlit Prosperity, New Year Celebration, Woven Canopy of Light, and Trees of Starlit Blessings Welcoming the New Year. As points of light illuminate everyday alleys, meanings of reunion, blessing, and prosperity are naturally woven into daily life. By blending traditional festive imagery with contemporary aesthetics, the project not only creates celebratory visual experiences but also integrates Lunar New Year joy into the rhythm of living.
