About The Entry

Tidal Resonance is a kinetic installation that transforms the astronomical phenomenon of tidal interaction into a physical spatial experience. Inspired by the gravitational relationship between celestial bodies, the project visualizes how invisible cosmic forces can reshape matter, transferring energy and tension across space.

The installation integrates mechanical motion, programmable lighting, and sound into a unified multimodal system. A dynamic structure driven by linear actuators, a stepper motor slider, and a servo mechanism continuously shifts and deforms, creating a physical representation of gravitational tension. Surrounding LED light systems generate algorithmic wave patterns and particle-like energy flows that simulate the movement of matter between two celestial bodies. Ambient sound, noise layers, and event-based audio further amplify the rhythm of the installation, synchronizing visual, mechanical, and acoustic elements.

Through this integration of engineering and artistic expression, Tidal Resonance explores how abstract scientific processes can be translated into tangible sensory experiences. The project invites viewers to perceive cosmic dynamics not as distant astronomical data, but as a living spatial phenomenon unfolding in real time. By bridging science, technology, and kinetic sculpture, the installation reveals the hidden forces that continuously shape the universe.
