About The Entry
The palette draws inspiration from luxury fashion, where deep blue and bright orange contrast sharply to create a strong visual tension. Instead of allowing this contrast to overpower the design, the gray tones and earthy shades balance the composition, jointly endowing a sedate yet vibrant atmosphere into the space. The wall surfaces are central to this expression. Layers of mineral plaster are applied by hand, gradually shaping a weighty, weathered-rock texture and organic driftwood grain. Small fragments of mica are worked into the material, catching light in a way that shifts throughout the day. These walls are more than decorations; instead, they become part of the background that holds the space together—subtle, but constantly present. Instead of relying on a single living area, the layout introduces two distinct reception zones, each aligned with a different mode of use. One accommodates more formal conversations, while the other supports casual gatherings and social interaction. Spatial separation is achieved not through partitions but through the arrangement of furniture and the direction of movement, allowing both areas to function independently while remaining visually connected. Addressed accessibility through a comprehensive universal design approach. Floor transitions are carefully resolved through precise material junctions, eliminating level differences and potential obstacles. Intentionally expanded circulation widths and turning space, anticipating future mobility needs while contributing to a more generous spatial experience. Also calibrated lighting to support daily comfort, with a smart system that adjusts color temperature in response to natural light conditions—brighter and cooler during the day, then gradually shifting to a warmer tone in the evening to ease visual strain. These interventions remain understated, supporting everyday life without drawing attention to them. Addressed sustainability through material selection and construction methods. Applied mineral-based finishes to replace natural stone, reducing environmental impacts related to extraction and transportation. Opt for Low-VOC coatings and eco-certified materials, which support healthier indoor air quality and long-term residential comfort.
