About The Entry
Three Squirrels Life Hall is positioned as “Your Second Kitchen, Right in Your Neighborhood,” designed to redefine the very essence of community retail. Responding to urban residents’ composite demands for convenience, immersive experiences, and social connection, the project rejects traditional high-density, product-centered layouts. Instead, it puts people first, weaving retail, dining, and daily life scenarios into one cohesive whole.
Built around the evocative concept of “kitchen scenes,” the layout revolves around four transparent live-cooking stations: the Fresh Bakery, Savory Delicatessen, Beverage Bar, and Freshly Roasted Nuts. Through the simple honesty of seeing how food is made, the design builds genuine consumer trust and dissolves the rigid boundaries between product display and food processing zones. Fresh produce and semi-prepared dishes are strategically arranged around these open stations, creating a seamless loop where customers can watch, buy, and eat in one engaging flow. The result is a multi-functional space that serves simultaneously as a market, a communal kitchen, and a social gathering place.
The circulation aligns with community habits by prioritizing quick access and on-demand purchasing. Core cooking stations are clustered near the entrance to enhance visual impact and instant recognition. Essential goods are distributed around the center to optimize the shopping flow. Low-profile shelving minimizes visual obstruction, ensuring accessibility for customers of all ages. Meanwhile, dedicated lingering zones adjacent to the beverage bar and bakery encourage casual social interaction, turning a routine errand into a relaxed, enjoyable moment.
Sustainability is also embedded in the design. Durable materials—including polycarbonate hollow sheets, raw timber, metal, and red bricks—create a natural, airy ambiance while ensuring longevity for commercial operation. Zoned lighting adjusts color temperatures to match different food types, significantly reducing energy consumption. Modular shelving and adjustable display systems allow for flexible merchandising and efficient restocking, keeping the space stable and always adaptable.
