HeShou（Crane Crest）Medical City Supporting Facilities

HeShou（Crane Crest）Medical City Supporting Facilities is inspired by the image of “cranes soaring above the lake,” which blends the grace of the crane with the fluidity of water, anchored by the spiritual essence of the ancient verse, "The crane cries in the marsh deep, Its voice is heard in the sky so high" from ＂the Book of Songs: Minor Odes，The Crane Cries＂. It emerges as a cultural landmark integrating themed commerce, a designer hotel, and immersive cultural experiences. The spatial planning is guided by the rhythm of the crane, unfolds in three progressive stages: “Entering the Realm,” “Merging with the Realm,” and “Realizing the Realm", to transform crane culture into a modern poetic architecture.

This project is compose of five elliptical buildings, harmoniously coexisting with nature while embracing urban vitality. With the century-old ancient tree at the center of the site as its core, a sunken landscape courtyard is designed surrounding, which not only preserves the natural and cultural characteristics of the site but also creates an open and inclusive public space. More than just a shopping destination, also it functions as a walkable urban park, where open commercial arrangements naturally invite visitors to stay and explore.

The design concept is based on the art, culture, and nature, especially emphasis the “fifth façade", the rooftop. Layered ceramic tiles evoke the texture of crane feathers, while flowing lines mimic the elegance of a dancing crane, creating a three-dimensional neighborhood to visit. The designer hotel within this project, named “Crane’s Perch,” offers a peaceful place in a bustling city, interpreting traditional culture through contemporary design and providing a resting place for urban crowds’ bodies and minds.

The project is established beside the Twin Cranes Lake, takes the crane as its soul to bridge the past and present. It functions more than a mere venue for commerce and hospitality, but also stands as a timeless poem of urban atmosphere, echoing across generations.
