Set within one of the country’s most storied college towns, Hub Bloomington is an off-campus student housing community. A hospitality-driven approach shapes the experience, drawing from Indiana University’s culture and identity. The 170-unit development delivers 591 beds across a mix of studios to five-bedroom suites, paired with a robust amenity program designed to enhance academic life, social connection, and personal wellbeing.
The interior concept translates collegiate pride into a layered environment shaped by memory, tradition, and everyday student rituals. References to vintage athletics, campus libraries, and Bloomington’s local culture appear throughout, creating spaces that feel familiar yet distinct.
The lobby establishes the tone through basketball flooring, a bold athletic stripe, and a custom chandelier inspired by the sport’s raw energy. Trophy displays, archival imagery, and collected furnishings introduce a sense of history without feeling staged. Millwork and bookcases reference academic architecture, reinforcing a connection to campus life.
Amenities extend this narrative into a series of highly programmed spaces that organize social activity and daily routines. The Academic Hub supports a range of study styles, from quiet niches to collaborative zones. The Trophy Room acts as a social anchor, tuned to the character of a record shop with vinyl displays and integrated audio. It opens directly to the rooftop deck and pool, where views of the nearby stadium connect residents to the energy of game day.
Wellness spaces are anchored by a two-story fitness center, where a feature stair and sculptural light installation composed of gym rings, open bulbs, and suspended equipment introduce movement and visual energy. Supporting studios and recovery spaces engage both body and mind. A bike lounge references the Little 500 race, offering both a functional repair space and a community touchpoint.
Residential units provide a comfortable, durable backdrop for student life, combining essential furnishings with warm, adaptable materials. In contrast to highly social amenity spaces designed for visibility and activity, each unit offers a more personal environment, space students can shape, retreat to, and call their own.
Hub Bloomington embeds campus culture into everyday living, creating a residential experience that moves between social energy and personal refuge.
