AURA ARC

Located in Qingpu, Taoyuan, the 76 square meters residence accommodates one resident and two cats. The client’s preference for a dark, understated, and enveloping atmosphere is paired with a need for durable, pet-friendly materials.

The design focuses on the social area’s ceiling potential, introducing a vaulted dome that transforms the original 2.8-meter height into a 3-meter curved profile. This not only integrates fire protection and mechanical systems but also enhances vertical spatial expression within a dark palette.

Indirect lighting along both sides of the dome softly traces its curvature, reinforcing visual depth and a sense of ritual when viewed upward. Materially, the space combines dark grey, black, and warm wood with artistic coatings, mineral paints, and wrapped surfaces to balance durability with refined texture.

Through ceiling refinement, lighting integration, and functional detailing, the residence achieves harmony between quietness and everyday practicality.
