About The Entry
Description:
Designed for the pioneering medical technology firm Butterfly Network, it's Taiwan office is a spatial reflection of a mission to make medical imaging accessible globally. As the creators of the world’s first handheld, whole-body ultrasound system, the office needed to balance the rigorous precision of a listed tech company with the human-centric warmth of a healthcare provider.
Concept: The Architecture of Connection
The design is anchored by a series of custom-built, linear oak-framed meeting "pods." These structures provide essential acoustic privacy for high-level medical-tech collaboration while maintaining total visual transparency through expansive glass panels. The repetition of the vertical wood grain against the industrial matte-black ceiling creates a "rhythm of innovation," echoing the high-tech yet organic nature of the company’s work.
Iconic Brand Integration:
The centerpiece of the common area is a large-scale, abstract interpretation of the company’s logo—the Blue Butterfly. Rather than traditional signage, the logo is integrated as a sweeping wall mural, its blue outlines serving as both a bold artistic statement and a literal representation of the "Butterfly" that is transforming global healthcare. This iconic imagery, paired with the natural timber and cool glass, ensures the environment feels both like a cutting-edge laboratory and an inviting home for a global humanitarian mission.
