About The Entry
AT FIBER pushes the limits of lightweight materials, giving shoes both strong protection and feather-light comfort.
Balancing structural strength and lightweight comfort has long been a key challenge in sneaker upper design. AT FIBER tackles this at the molecular level. Through systematic material selection and modification processes, it achieves a density of just 0.97 g/cm³, a strength of 43 cN/dtex, and a modulus exceeding 160 GPa, delivering exceptional protection and support without compromising lightness.
AT FIBER overcomes the long-standing adhesion challenges of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers with surfactant and the HFDR low-temperature process. The R&D teams optimized the UHMWPE fibers’ melting point and other parameters, allowing the material to be processed using conventional consumer footwear production methods.
AT FIBER delivers top-tier performance at less than one-seventh the cost of comparable materials on the international market, making high-performance materials more accessible than ever. Thanks to yarn dyeing techniques, the material supports full-color customization, moving beyond the conventional UHMWPE fibers’ limits to black, white, and gray, and giving designers greater freedom in upper design without compromising strength and performance.
