ANTA has partnered with Sinopec to develop the Contrek ICE Pro, a revolutionary outsole technology engineered for excellent cold resistance and anti-slip performance. This innovation restricts hardness fluctuation to a precise range of 5A to 8A at -40°C—a significant leap over the industry standard of 15A (Shore A). It redefines the performance ceiling for outsoles in extreme cold, all while preserving everyday durability and comfort.

The core of this innovation lies in the meticulously optimized macromolecular microstructure of the rubber compound. By strategically inducing high molecular disorder within the polymer chains, the material fundamentally suppresses micro-crystallization to prevent low-temperature embrittlement. Furthermore, the in-house catalytic polymerization technology lowers the material’s glass transition temperature to a range between -60°C and -70°C. This allows the outsole to retain its elasticity and flexibility even when temperatures plummet.

Beyond material composition, the manufacturing process integrates molding vulcanization with a mirror-finish high-polishing technique to optimize surface contact mechanics. In rigorous SATRA TM144 slip-resistance testing, the outsole achieved a coefficient of friction (COF) of 0.36 on wet tiles, significantly outperforming the 0.26 COF typically found in traditional rubber. This superior grip ensures reliable footing and provides peace of mind for commuters and outdoor enthusiasts navigating treacherous icy and snowy surfaces.
