Outdoor Backpack

In complex and unpredictable trail environments, traditional backpacks often become a burden for runners. This project features the core design philosophy of "a backpack worn like clothing," tailored specifically for trail runners. By merging the backpack structure with a sports vest, the product breaks through the morphological limits of traditional backpacks, transforming the gear from an extra burden into a natural extension of the runner's body. Designed from the perspective of real trail running scenarios, it seeks a balance among speed, stability, and comfort, allowing runners to maintain a smooth rhythm in the mountains and focus solely on the run itself.

Research on trail running data reveals that most trail excursions consist of short-to-medium distances completed within a single day. Based on this insight, the design abandons the traditional "high-capacity first" approach, controlling the volume within a reasonable range to meet one-day hydration and nutrition needs, and replacing the conventional backpack shape with a vest-like structure. While maintaining a lightweight profile, the product can still accommodate essential gear and supplies. It features a 1L hydration bladder system connected to the front shoulder strap via a water tube, allowing runners to easily hydrate on the move without stopping for highly efficient carrying.

This design utilizes an ultra-thin stretch fabric combined with a tightening cord buckle system, empowering the backpack to actively adapt to body dynamics. Paired with an adjustable chest strap design, the backpack can adjust its wrapping degree in real-time according to the runner's breathing rhythm and gait changes, ensuring that internal items remain perfectly stable during high-speed running, ascending/descending, and jumping. This "oneness between runner and pack" fit allows runners to focus more on terrain variations and their own rhythm.

Considering that trail running often lasts for hours or even longer, carrying comfort becomes a crucial design factor. The entire backpack utilizes high-performance breathable fabrics, while the back panel is specially designed with a 3D honeycomb grid structure, which strengthens back support while forming active air circulation channels.
