China

The Jiahu Site in Wuyang County, Henan Province, is an early Neolithic settlement dating back 9,000 to 7,700 years. Surrounded by a dike-enclosed wetland, the Jiahu Site Museum organizes its exhibition halls using a "settlement-style" spatial concept, creating rich public spaces through the connection of a streamlined, large roof. Innovative approaches are employed in structure and materials, with the rich texture of rammed earth plaster forming a unique artistic language. Functionally, it transcends the singular nature of museum architecture, integrating into the daily lives of villagers and creating a village center for Jiahu Village. The Jiahu Site Museum provides a systematic approach and new ideas for the design of site museums in rural areas.
