Yin Yang Fish

What will happen if we inject water feature into seat design ? We were inspired by yin and yang from oriental cultural aesthetics and designed this set of seats named as Yin Yang Fish.





The culture and shape of yin and yang represent a power of constant harmony and balance, which goes the same with water vortexes in the nature. Therefore we let the two concepts coalesced into this seat design.





Firstly, from the perspective of plan design, we divided a circle into four fish-like units, whose border consists of several golden section curves with different radii. Two of the seats include two sets of vortexes, which look like fish eyes. The complementary shape of yin and yang implies an eddy-like permanent rotation. What’s more, the four units can be assembled with different modulus while maintaining the overall integrity, or placed according to varied spaces and users.





Next, the internal whirlpool in the seat further reveals the charm of a real water vortex. As water rotating and spilling out, it refreshes people’s mind, heart and soul. Two vortex units are independent electromechanical device systems and can be separated from the seats.





Last but not least, we selected black and white leather for the seat. It’s classic, practical and durable.

All in all, the design of Yin Yang Fish expresses our hope for a better life. The functional seat brings more than just functionality, but the beauty of nature, art and science as well as a unique comfort to heart.
