Tai Chang Tang Herbal Pharmacy

An old man hosts an old herbal pharmacy so many years, it's time to inherits the old craft to 3 young traditional medicine doctor, who he reliance.

First floor, inheriting the spirit by keeping the old herbal closets, and do retro style. We used every material can represent Taiwan, like the old type Chinese letters, iron window grilles…etc.. And specially we combined the most important letter, “Chang”(昌), inside the cabinet, reminding 3 new hosts, don’t forget about our spirit!

The kitchen behind the glass, we’d like to let people can learn how traditional Chinese medicine made by seeing the process, that’s why the kitchen is visible.

Second floor is the 3 doctors’s main working space, the 3 short, 1 tall plants from the entry hall, represent the old host cares and inherits the 3 young doctors. Slight wood, white concrete brick, are young and retro, there’s also including Tai Chang Tang’s represent color, that linked first and second floor.

Due to two floor’s are different styles, retro and younger, we set an “time tunnel” into this case, right, the stairs, that helps people change their mood slowly at taking stairs. At same time, the iron window grilles between two floors, links two spaces together, won’t separate forever.
