A house is not just a building, but a connecting point between people. Located in Pingtung, Taiwan, this project is near Fo Guang Shan, Taiwu Mountain, and Pingtung Agricultural Biotechnology Park is not far away. The name of the owner Rui Zhou means auspicious jade in oasis. And just like it suggested, the project is like an undiscovered wonder brought to light through the designer, and turns into a paradise for home-seekers. Inspired by the well-loved emerald and nephrite and their geometric crystal, the designer creates the triangle roof and the hardware exterior ornament.

To overcome the defects of uneven base and monotonous environment, the designer decides to apply the Singaporean structure, in which the first floor and basement become the parking lot. This way, the residents can park conveniently with less time consumed. The semi open walls offer a fluid air flow and sufficient sunlight to reduce the moldy smell and energy consumption. The lounge area is set on the top floor, so that the residents and guests can enjoy the view of. Pingtung while connecting. To take the fullest of the water resource, the designer designs a water-plumping system to transfer the water to the top floor and builds a waterscape, and the flow is channeled downwards to the ground level to irrigate the greenery. The water also helps with cooling. When the wind breezes through the building, it brings the humidity to each level and cools down the temperature, therefore reduce the energy consumption of AC.

To echo the theme of auspicious jade in oasis, the building is surrounded by green fields to imitate an oasis. From the decorating lights to the lattices on the balconies, triangular hardware that represents crystal jade is heavily applied. The façade is coated with green building material certified granite ciscoat that is weather and fire resistant. The clock pond at the gate is inspired by sundial, which can show the time with the shadow of the sun. The homage to the tradition is the common theme here, but an unique approach to modern housing.
