Choujiang Fire Station of Yiwu

As an infrastructure in the urban organic renewal, the project shoulders the heavy responsibility of fire rescue, and also provides energy for the renewal of the old city. The project is sustainable and is committed to creating higher social and environmental values while meeting the needs of firefighters in their work and life. The orderly and regular space planning makes the functional structure clear. The combination of different materials such as light-colored stone, red aluminum plate and wood-colored aluminum louvers reinforce the difference and coherence of the space, resulting in different appearance and atmosphere: the ground floor is a sheltered parking area for fire trucks, a studio and a carwash; The second floor is the preparation room and physical training room. The third floor is the learning room, cinema, etc; the top floor is the fire education center. The two main design highlights of the interior space of the building are the stairs in architecture and the hanging courtyard. We distribute the sliding poles and stairs at both ends of the corridor to connect each floors, which help to achieve the highest efficiency of police response. The hanging courtyards scattered everywhere, at all heights and depths of the building, express the artistic conception of blank-leaving in Chinese painting, and create a distinctive outdoor place, allowing plenty of light and green vegetation to permeate the interior of the building, creating a resting space for firefighters to slow down. As a place with social educational function, the fire station also provides an independent path for visitors, which makes the project socially open and reflects its social value. The project is a fire station, but at the same time it is a community complex that combines learning and education to inject vitality into urban renewal.
