'Boombox' - Themed DJ Booth & Drinks Bar

Produce a design for a showstopper prop for rental to the events industry. This would be multifunctional, working as a DJ Booth or Drinks Bar with a secondary function as a general static prop. It must coherently fit with various top-grossing themes for parties and events, such as retro decades 1980's, 1990's but also work with other popular event themes



This is designed for the rental/hire market, so it slots together with no removable fixings. Its made up of 8 manageable parts, all designed to fit through a small door (700mm wide x 1900mm tall), allowing it to be assembled anywhere, working with any venue. It's designed to be built by anyone and everyone, so all fixings are simple, straightforward and built for purpose.



Each product must be designed so that they can be hired upwards of 60 times a year. This means that every time it is hired, it must be straight forward to maintain and prep to look its best but also able to survive being transported throughout the UK, be quickly assembled within 5 minutes then work correctly for a set timeframe (hours, days or weeks).



In addition to the brief, the product has a bespoke lighting system. This is designed for inclusivity and impact. The lighting system can work by DMX for AV contractors but also it has the unique function of an integrated microphone that bypasses DMX. This microphone responds to vibrations made from the bass by nearby music speakers, this allows you to wirelessly change the lighting to the beat of the music with nothing more than a phone. This makes the product perfect for not only large high budget events but also smaller events, even house parties!
