The project is located in the traditional business district of Nanping, Chongqing, with an area of 2299 m2. How to arouse the vitality of the old city? How to solve the height difference of nearly 4 meters and improve the visiting experience in the irregular rectangle with a depth of 70 meters and a width of 45 meters? We have introduced the traditional space technique of opening and closing, and proposed a three-stage dramatic experience of “hiding view, flow planning, turning point”. With Escher's Impossible World, the arrangement and combination of geometric patterns and modern minimalist design allows the space to be extended infinitely.

Hiding View is to form a border. The epitome of the city is integrated into the gate design based on the current dilapidated condition around the site. Newton's Pendulum is used as a metaphor for the twenty-four constellations, thereby defining the life boundary of inward growth. In the space which is not completely separated and bounded, the visitors could have different experience, which stimulates them to yearn for art.

Flow Planning is a profound and endless way of expression. The mirror material is used to fold the small space repeatedly, and the landscape flow line is extended through the broken line space, thereby forming a visual deviation, and then planting Chinese Tallow trees to ensure the purity of the space, so that the visitors could get a profound and endless space experience.

Turning Point is to break the traditional form and build a new order. From the natural folding space to the waterscape space, visitors will feel the space enlarged.
