Inspired by the simple concept that smallest entities can have the biggest impacts, this one-of-a-kind apparel art piece blends together society, science, and fashion into a winged masterpiece. In total, there are twelve butterflies hand stitched on to this top that vary in size, origin, and color. From Peru to Africa to the United States to Thailand, each butterfly that adorns the top is just as unique in appearance as it is in its origin. The idea was to place specimens from all corners of the globe on this piece to demonstrate the beauty of society when all walks of life come together. The pop of color wouldn’t be complete without each little creature; as a whole, they have a biggest impact on the overall composition as they are the only source of color. The piece illustrates what inclusivity in society should resemble - that while we may all be from different places, when we come together is when we can embody a beautiful and powerful entity.
