Rancho Santa Fe

Rancho Santa Fe is a Spanish style villa sitting in Shanghai. MoooMa design team combined different elements of the Western minimalism and the wabi-sabi aesthetics to create a modern Wabi-Sabi space with warmth, which emphasizes the original texture, deconstructed curves, rustic and understated colors, and proper white space. Inside, residents can get close to nature and return to a more calm and sedate lifestyle. Designers extracted the beautiful forms of natural elements, Corinthian columns and arches and simplified them through modern techniques to present them all in a harmonious manner. The modern Wabi-Sabi aesthetics, coupled with the natural materials, and rustic and understated colors enable a sense of nature as well as a simple and elegant lifestyle, so that residents can interact with “nature” seamlessly. The materials are presented in their original form with natural textures that will be enhanced by time, which helps to create a sedate atmosphere.
