The clients are a couple with two children. They expected the design team to plan a comfortable home for a nuclear family and chose black and gray as the main color tone with a modern style. After communication and understanding the client's needs, the design team interpreted the modern style through different materials and layout planning. The light, black mirror, and large tiles amplify the visual expanse through light and shadow. At the same time, wood grain elements integrate the simple and warm Scandinavian style into the modern space. Using black and gray as the main color can create a stable visual feeling. However, if the dark tone remains unchanged, it might cause a depressing and stressful mood. Therefore, the design team used large panels made of different materials and configure them according to each space. The core value of the design is to maintain the "warmth of the home" while considering the texture and daily life based on the dark colors and the modern style. The foyer is decorated with a faux stone panel and a black and gray shoe cabinet. The upper and lower cabinets are equipped with vertical lighting strips extending to the ceiling. On the other hand, the living room has a wooden floor and a light gray fabric couch and sofa to add to the relaxing atmosphere. The functional couch also solves the problem of having friends over but worrying about insufficient seating. To make up for the lack of visual extension in some areas, the design team used black mirrors as an embellishment. The design team also utilized lighting to create a flow of light and shadow in the space, bringing out the impression that the earth is silent at dawn, but full of vitality and inspiration. This idea is also a metaphor for the newborn baby in the client's family, which brings new changes in life and the expectation of a new stage of life.
