Geometric Fairy Tale

This case starts from this concept and takes the two main elements of "geometric figures" and "lively color matching" as the starting point of the design of the home space. For owners who love children's books, who are engaged in graphic design work and a newborn baby, the house interprets the artistic conception of children's books from every angle, making the parent-child life more comfortable with children growing up at home.

The original space is long and narrow, and the layout is poorly planned, resulting in poor indoor lighting, ventilation and circulation. The designer renovated the whole space, readjusted the moving lines and compartments, and the dust-fall area of the porch was separated from the living room by tiles and marble shoe stools.

The corridor in front of the original room was merged into the kitchen, which significantly increased the kitchen's available space, and set up a bar counter to meet the needs of the hostess. At the same time, the opening position and circulation of the kitchen and the adjacent rooms were improved. The room next to the kitchen is planned as a parent-child recreation and reading area. The sliding door is designed to replace the pushing door, and the couch and storage cabinet are matched to maximize space efficiency. In the study studio, glass sliding doors are used to replace physical compartments, making the space more transparent and visually showing light and simple texture.

Due to the narrow and long shape of the house, it is difficult for natural light to penetrate. For the ceiling beam that initially spanned the dining room, the designer abandoned the way of general lighting and created a curtain patio ingeniously, which made the light source illumination more natural and modified the abruptness of the beam. It is matched with the cylindrical projection lamp of the restaurant to solve the problem of insufficient lighting in the middle of the house.

Furthermore, the lively colors are used to make the finishing touch so that every wall and different perspectives are as vivid as the pages of a fairy tale picture book.
