Cave Dariane

Located beneath an 800 m2 house that has been constructed gradually over the years, the 200 years old cave was built using an arch vault technique, which plays a structural role in the house. Therefore, the challenge was to create an interior space adapted to the client's needs without removing or damaging any existing stone. An elevated platform was added above the boulders to leave them intact. Local and custom made materials were used for furniture and finishing.
