MUMIAN Chengdu Dongan Lake

The hotel is located in Longquanyi, Chengdu. It was the name of the ancient inn, which became a place name after Qing Dynasty. The interior of the hotel extracts Sichuan landforms, architectural language, and local culture as design elements, and integrates the lifestyle of ancient inns into the space, allowing guests to travel through time and space and experience the prosperous scene of the year. After experiencing, recalling, and perceiving the teahouses, old streets, and markets in Chengdu, to let guests find the long-lost sense of relaxation.

Symbols such as bamboo chairs, copper pots, and rattan weaving constitute the attributes and spirit of Chengdu tea culture. The designer refined and mutated these figurative entities and transformed them into artistic expressions in the space. Bashu traditional rattan weaving craft elements, original artistic lamps designed with tea baskets as inspiration, etc, under the echo of these unique regional cultural symbols, a rich and progressive relationship is formed between the spatial function and landscape, which provide guests with a unique experience.

The ADD has two floors, the first floor is for individual guests, and the second floor is for private rooms. The first floor is a "street" and the second floor is a "pavilion". Viewing the street scene from the pavilion makes people feel as if they were in the prosperous old days of Longquanyi. In terms of interior layout and shape, the design is in the same vein as the teahouse and the ancient stage, which dominated by wooden structures. The red brick is the expression of the Chengdu architecture with a sense of age. The red brick walls with different woven textures make the aesthetics and architectural sense of the design reflected in the space.
