DONG TANG YOUNG

The central theme of this design project is concise and straightforward: “Home is the place where all the journeys begin.” To elaborate, the home doesn’t start from the door. Still, it could begin from the community or the entire neighborhood. This designer has redefined the relationships between the residence and the dwellers. The client’s residence is part of an emerging housing planning and settlement scheme located in an industrial area, which attracts young families with prospects and aspirations to settle here. The design team has integrated the project with the natural aesthetics and living experience as the critical elements of the layout, thus creating a stylish luxury residence for the young generation. The exterior of the building is set in gray and white as the primary color scheme, with marble tiles to create an elegant and grand visual experience. Walking into the shared living area, the sunshine shines through the floor-to-ceiling windows and is reflected in the beige and white interior. The shared living area is open and installed with large windows to make the overall space look spacious and bright. Green trees are planted outdoors, and plants are placed indoors, giving a fresh and pleasant atmosphere with greenery. Geometric forms and curved lines are integrated into the space to demonstrate a distinct living environment.Moreover, the design team cleverly utilizes unconventional objects, seating forms, and meandering lines to make residents feel as if they were walking along a country road. The residents will easily find places to put their feet up. Each area comes with a variety of functions. For instance, there is a reading area for children to play and friends to gather; an office/working area for formal occasions; an outdoor seating area close to nature, etc. The application of various area spaces offers the residents a different living experience. After nearly six years of constant communication, discussion, and negotiation with the locals, the developer has finally completed a residential project depicting a refreshing cityscape look. On top of that, this project gives the locals a new, more livable, comfortable, and enjoyable environment.
