The name of this project, "Time on the little island", comes from the client couple's view of their retirement life. They proposed a "minimalist lifestyle" and wanted to discard unnecessary objects from the space. The design team was inspired by Mrs. Lindbergh, the author of "GIFT from the SEA", who left her family in the 1950s and lived alone on an island to explore her soul. The design team transformed the house into an independent island. When one enters the space, one can leave behind external distractions and enjoy the simple and calm quality of living in a paradise. The gray space with wood grain guides the mind into a calm mood. There is no excessive decoration in the environment, and the simple design is in line with the client's idea of a minimalist lifestyle. Moreover, as a retirement home, its functionality is of paramount importance. The design team created the blank spaces between the areas and shaped the living space for two people.
