The pursuit of Buddhism is a perpetual journey. The shadowy expression of light and darkness is the ultimate depiction of esoteric aesthetics, and the same concept has been applied to this project. From the foyer, one can feel the calmness that the designer has crafted for the client who believes in Buddhism. The storage cabinet is made of dark walnut wood with a distinctive grain, and the large blank space creates a mysterious division as if walking into a pine forest. When the shimmering light blends into the deep blackness, beauty pours down like heavy rain. The overlap of solid and void extends infinitely in all directions at the same time. Moreover, the moru glass in front of the room simultaneously provides lighting and privacy. The minimalistic lines, materials, and colors of the living room highlight the charming wabi-sabi atmosphere of the client's preference. The stone-patterned living room TV wall echoes the raw concrete wallpaper on the wall behind the sofa. The open-plan study room, which can be entered from both sides of the hallway in a loopback, creates a visual and psychological spaciousness. Meanwhile, the wooden blinds that can be freely adjusted convey a sense of quiet and relaxed living. The black-colored study room is a place for chanting and meditation, and the hidden door in the corner of the bookcase leads to the entrance of the master bedroom. The bedroom is a quiet and restrained space, with only the necessary furniture to accompany the spiritual practice sought by the client. As for the separate dressing room next door, it is extremely spacious and has a retractable sliding door made of moru glass. Once the door is opened, the bedroom becomes more spacious and airier. The designer uses creativity to change the impression of Zen, reminding people of the story of “Sumeru Mountain In A Mustard Seed” and adding a fascinating human value.
