Space utility can be maximized to enjoy aspects of a luxurious apartment.

Inspired by the game Tetris and its tile-matching/overlapping characteristics, interior spaces are designed to be fully integrated with one area to another, maximizing spacing utility and redefining the meaning of “big” and “small”. With the inclusion of a movable partition, different demands of space usage can be skillfully accommodated.

Living room and the kitchen are the prime areas where most lighting are being received and boundary between spaces increases and expands visually. The microflat is small yet refined, retaining all elements of a basic home.

This interior design work emphasizes on space sharing to accommodate for different usage occasions. Center table could function like a dining table for friends and family gathering occasions, or it could function as a meeting/work table, when the microflat is used as an “showroom” during client visits. With the inclusion of the movable partition, different areas of the interior could be covered, or freed, according to the type of occasion. This redefines the traditional perspective of “space usage”, underscoring the flexibility of the interior.

The color “white” is the primary color used in this design, as the color has the properties to reflect all wavelengths of light to allow the space to appear larger. Large pieces of white marbles were the selected material for the entrance and the bathroom, while PANDOMO, a modern surfacing material technology, provides the space with seamless flooring. Wood patterns of the cabinets are painted in “white”, while graciously mixed with glimpses of “black”, to create unique visual toning. The color “blue” is used on the kitchen cabinets for color embellishments, creating a robust yet visually soothing environment.
