Home carries different meanings and symbols for each individual. After careful communication between the designer and the homeowner, the designer carefully planned the project to break down the original space pattern and reorganize it. The planning has to match the homeowner's preferences of style and decorative items to give the homeowner, who is a foreigner, a home with a sense of belonging. The designer adopts an open layout for the shared living area to obtain a spacious and comfortable feeling through visual extension. The layout has been reorganized to optimize the movement of the lines indirectly. From the foyer to the living room, the designer installed track lighting in the high ceiling to subtly deflate the sense of the difference between the low beam and the ceiling. The TV wall is repositioned and combined with the half-height wall design, reducing visual obstruction and allowing natural light from the window to enter the room smoothly and illuminate the whole space. A dark green color is chosen along the center island table behind the TV wall towards the kitchen to add color changes and liven up the room. Moving slowly to the bedroom, one will notice that the clean white color with warm wood is the area’s primary focus, creating a natural and relaxing atmosphere and providing a comfortable resting space for the residents. For this project, the designer utilizes solid wood, brass, concrete, and barn door design to create a Scandinavian industrial look that the male homeowner loves. The wood-framed bay window was specially created and deepened to provide a plant countertop, thus satisfying the woman's hobby. The designers also planned and integrated the windows to provide ample storage space for the users. All of the above has resulted in the ideal home that the homeowner had. For this project, the designer uses solid wood, brass, and concrete as well as barn door design to create a Scandinavian industrial look that the male homeowner loves.
