About The Entry

RHB Banking Group is a fully integrated financial services group in Malaysia. Their workspace in Crystal Plaza Petaling Jaya goal was to design an unrivaled working space that changes the work dynamic. This workplace is a physical representation of RHB Bank brand and culture. And the design and fit out of the workplace is an essential way of demonstrating ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) credentials while also helping to deliver them. After the pandemic, we have entered irrevocably into an era of hybrid working. Amidst tumultuous change in the way people work, it’s important to look to the data and consider the implications it has on office design of open collaborative spaces for high-energy workforces. One defining aspect that differentiates RHB's workplace is its hot desking set-up. It seamlessly integrates face-to-face collaboration in the office with remote working. This collocated style of working is to create dynamic spaces for employees, but without necessarily bridging home working and the physical office. At the focus-work area, employees can work without distractions on desks with privacy. Acoustic panels reduce noise pollution, enhancing the daylighting. Breakout areas are provided for increased flexibility and dynamic working that allows for collaborative engagement. Beside that, there is a variety and feasibility to the client’s space to support various activities, like configurable furniture that is easy to move around. The pantry maximizes space as it also doubles as a townhall area, with a projection system. Unique and modern furniture adds to the appeal of a versatile workspace which can be used for work related activities or simple team engagements. This project marries a combination of warm and cold shades that makes it somewhat playful but work relevant where necessary, accentuating a creative atmosphere and encouraging relaxation while going green. Wide glass windows allow for sunlight to shine in and provide natural lighting for the occupants, embedding ESG best practice within the workplace enables companies to improve employee engagement, and help save the world - all at the same time. This is further enhanced by an open concept office with a combination of team-working collaborative spaces alongside private spaces.
