This Project included all front of house Public Areas for a hotel on the famous Whisky Row in Louisville. The hotel architecture is unique because it integrated the historic façade with a new building, connecting the two with a large skylight over the restaurant area. Custom decorative lighting at the skylight, carefully coordinated with the interior designer, included integrated track lighting to create a warm environment and allow for spotting each table per client requirements. The Lobby, Bar and Restaurant were designed as one large space with different goals. Being able to bring cohesion and division to the lighting approach at the same time was a challenge that ended up strengthening the lobby and dining experience. Since the Lobby and Restaurant spaces had to be (long-life) halogen, warm-dim LED products were used in adjacent Function Spaces. The guest room and tower fixtures were all warm, replaceable LED lamp sources so the owner never has to replace fixtures or modules in guest rooms, making maintenance easy for engineering. A dimming system is utilized in every public space. Time-clock settings and fade times are instrumental in transitioning from day to night.
