Fisheries Hall

The exhibition, Fisheries Hall, taking place in the Lions Nature Education Centre (LNEC) aims to promote nature education and marine conservation in Hong Kong. It illustrates the fisheries development history of Hong Kong from the 1960s to the present while sharing the advanced technologies for sustainable fisheries.





Divided into three thematic areas, History of Fisheries in Hong Kong, Appreciation of Capture Fisheries in Hong Kong and Growing Importance of Aquaculture, the exhibition starts from the land, sea and then deep sea. It aspires to explain the fisheries and important development with the creative use of technologies. Through the three areas, visitors could understand the changes that have occurred in the fisheries industry since the establishment of Hong Kong as a trading port.





Audience walks through the exhibition with the mascot characters of five local fishes in each thematic area which covers the history of the fisheries in Hong Kong, understanding of capture fisheries and modernised aquaculture with the application of the latest technologies. The audience could expect a journey in three rooms of specific knowledge from the perspectives of fish.
