The penthouse on the top floor was designed by us to follow the architecture of the building.

The starting point for this project was to think about the different experiences in the same space.

We started by developing the entrance hall in a simple and sophisticated way. On one side a wooden slatted panel allows the visitor to glimpse into the room and at the same time appreciate the artworks of the Portuguese artist Bruno Castro Santos and a drawing by the Indian born artist Zarina Hashmi.

The living room takes us by surprise, with a 180º view over the city of Lisbon.

This large living area has been arranged in a fluid way that organises zones for living, reading, entertaining, working, socialising and dining, punctuated with the furniture and lighting studied for each ambience of the house.

Sofas with curved and straight lines, round and rectangular tables, round dining table adorned with the iconic chairs - Capitol Complex Chair, a tribute to the designer Pierre Jeanneret.

As a backdrop to the dining room, we did some joinery work, an extensive containment cabinet that ends with a built-in vinotheque connecting the breakfast counter in Tahj Mahal marble.

Through its thin strips in lighter wood laminate, the chandelier sheds light on the table with calacata marble top and the organic clay foot.

This glass curtain directs us to the kitchen that is integrated in the dining room, but more timidly.

The materials chosen for the kitchen were thought in order to combine practicality with aesthetics, since it is an integrated space to the rest of the living-room. Walnut wood was the main natural material used in this house.

On the walls and columns, selected artworks incorporate rhythm throughout the interior of the house.

A more intimate atmosphere was created along the corridor with decorative wall friezes and artwork leading to the private area. It is through this corridor that we access all the Suites and dressing room, social toilet and storage home area.

The creation of a small hall which leads to the dressing room provides a more homogenous spatial distribution, at the same time embracing the access to the suite master bathroom. These modifications helped maintain functional clarity and balance with the natural charm and refinement of the flat.

The design of the master suite was the perfect opportunity to further explore these concepts. The wall of floor-to-ceiling glass windows act as a backdrop and invite the golden evening light reflected in the wood and straw wall that acts as a bedside table.
