Grey Space

The condo is around 166-square-meter with 4 bedrooms mainly for parents and two children. The designer brings in warm wooden elements through the medium of rustic grey mineral paint which creates a peaceful vibe so that the residents feel relaxed when they arrive home. Therefore, it’s named “Grey Space”.

The designer chooses grey as main palette for whole interior space and matches the tone of warm brown and most importantly the texture of marble to build modern affordable luxury style which complement each other perfectly.

In order to make the daylight penetrate into the interior space, the designer dismantles upper part of partition wall which divides the living room and the study adopting half wall room dividers with glass panel. One of partition walls is removed in the study using large panels of Moru-Glass as sliding door to keep privacy. The ways how the designer uses transparent materials and the ideas of using different materials not only visually enlarges the space but also connects the living room, kitchen/dining area and the study together keeping the interaction among each area.

As the houseowner would like to have an open kitchen, the designer changes the direction of dining area and remove the partition wall in the kitchen to build dream open kitchen for the houseowner. The dining table connected with island in the kitchen is the center point in the open kitchen. The owner can interact with friends/relatives who sit among kitchen, dining area, living room and the study. The dining table also undertakes the emotional communication among people which becomes an indispensable place in the home. The design of the open kitchen is mainly focused on the simple but neat lines and the usage of different materials. The designer adopts the palette of brown, tone of grey and some texture of marble to build an open kitchen with modern affordable luxury style.
