Ultimate Serenity

This is a serene and elegant interior design project. The signature square-to-curve lines in the ceiling tangibly interpret an ultimate design for the space by serving as the perfect combination of form and function, giving the apartment a contemporary, playful feel.



The project, located in Taipei city, has been designed for a couple to enjoy their retirement in. This pre-sold apartment was one of a number of newly constructed residential units built without interior walls or utilities. The total area of 75 sqm is relatively compact, but features a large living room with dining area, a master bedroom, two bathrooms, and a closet.



The aim of the design was to maximize the usage space of the interior. Instead of brick walls, we installed cabinets and timber walls that serve as the partition between the living area and other rooms. The simplicity of the design creates a consistent flow throughout.



The use of a special paint that incorporates mineral textures lends the entire space a soft, gentle character. A variety of textures and finishes, such as refined metal trim, come together to ensure the interior remains light and sophisticated. Storage spaces are kept out of sight, neatly hidden behind the feature wall. Thanks to the earthy, warm tones of the paint and the smooth curve of the ceiling, the space offers a warm oasis-like feel to all those who enter.
