This design project adopted the American leisurable style as the main theme, surmounting the more coarse style impressions with these carefree elements while further introducing the warmth and brightness of countryside pale colors.

In the beginning of design, the designer emphasized on the angles of the residents and the users within the residence, satisfying house owner’s needs with functions and styles, while further considering the actual usage circulation and layout planning, following the “human-oriented” design principle to obtain the ideal balance between embellishing the beauty of space and the practical functions.

This is a renovation project of a 30-year-old house, the layout arrangement was required to be reviewed during the renovation process, amongst these, two of the original bathrooms were exchanged to satisfy the house owner’s needs, whereas variations of tiles and location of washbasin were utilized to plan the spatial design featuring aesthetic beauty and functionality. Moreover, the half-wall culture stone sofa back wall extends to the dining room corridor, softening the ratio between the high wall and the beams through the variation of the wall. Exposed lines with black downlight illumination design are selected for the ceiling, where besides emphasizing on the American style, it further allowed the spatial visual effect to be more concentrated and bright.

Under the leisurable American styled tone, elements such as the design of culture stone, exposed ceiling lines and customized black iron piece and blackboard wall are utilized to create a relaxing cultural ambience resembling a café, while further introducing countryside styled grey and white colors with wood patterned storage cabinet to stimulate the unique yet cozy and comfortable spatial aesthetic sentiment.
