Beihai City Coast Sample Room

This project is designed for a family of three. The contrast of wood colors and neutral tones is applied to create a comfortable, elegant and distinctive modern residential space. Adhering to the principle of humanized design and keeping up with the times, through in-depth observation of life, artistic thinking, and material investigation, and through multiple considerations of aesthetics, functionality, practicality, privacy, comfort, and personal style, the design team takes advantage of bold innovation and simple modern design techniques to create a living space with practical functions, quality of life, aesthetics and commercial values. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, the residents can enjoy the comfort and romance of high quality life without leaving home.

The entrance door is repositioned to increase the area of the kitchen. The kitchen and the entrance hallway are integrated through the sliding glass door that can be opened and closed freely, which enhances the spatial connection and brings visual depth. The entrance wall scale was too wide because of the shear wall of the original building, thus the design team fuses fabric art and wood grain materials to reduce the visual width of the wall.

Minimalism vs maximalism contrasting technique is utilized on both side walls of living room which is the important living space of the family, to create visual sensation of retreating and strengthen the visual width of space. The living room sofa back wall that integrates the the space of dining room and living room is covered with neutral-colored hard pack material, and the back wall is divided by the red leather texture panels, which not only divides the space area, but also plays the role of decoration.

Designers create a visual focal point on the living room TV wall by imitating the texture of natural stone, and produce a dignified atmosphere by matching wood grain with mirrors.The room is decorated with Chinese landscapes to reflect the cultural quality of the owner.
