Through the vicissitudes of life, people learn how to simplify an engaged existence. The home lady hopes that the accent of the home is on “simplicity and warmth” for the home master’s treatment. Hence, we prepared a simplified layout plan; it returns to the essence and integrates the materials of nature with the neutral color schemes. “A Realm of Tranquility” brings out the concept of Wabi-Sabi that takes one’s harmonized body and soul to a tranquil surrounding.

”Wabi-Sabi ” is a representation of Buddhism aesthetic philosophy that involves ideally understanding the transient nature of materials in the world. Accordingly, the design exudes the beauty of austerity as we adopted rustic and understated materials, such as wooden elements associated with microcement coating. Without superfluous furnishings, homeowners have plenty of flexibility to adapt arrangements. In the home, they can have a quiet and well-being sense of life with more and more interests as time goes by.

The entire room adopted low-key color schemes as a base tone. Under a little gleam of warm light, the owners can feel free from their hectic daily life. With a suitable negative space, there is additional room for creativity in the home that echoes the Wabi-Sabi concept and harmonizes the illumination. As the sun shines into the room, the glows light up the interior and saturate our hearts. The interior reveals various appearances through the moving shades.

We adopted dark wood veneers on furniture, window frames, and tabletops to satisfy the owners’ preferences. By pouring the microcement coating, the rustic textures stand out with the simple and austere features of the Wabi-Sabi style. Instead of materialism, a reserved and calm approach with traces of time leads people to appreciate the essence of nature and taste authentic living.

To cope with the homeowner’s family moving from the townhouse to a flat, we removed superfluous embellishments and uncluttered the cabinetry lines to provide plenty of storage room and adapt the new home. Simple furniture arrangement helps to divide different areas and creates an open layout.
