The project was developed with a concept of origami with a touch of Taiwan Culture. Amid the busy district of Taipei, Xinyi district, Agoda Taipei recently relocated into a new office. The approach was to separate the office into private and public spaces and maximize the building window for natural light and the view. This office is an adoption of flexible pantry spaces, open office, phone booth, mother’s room, and meeting rooms with the spectacular view of the famous landmark, Taipei 101.

The 585 sqm floor plan takes advantage of the central lift lobby, locating the reception and meeting rooms at entry for easier guest access and leaving the adjacent unit for open workstations and private offices. The office provides several break areas, naturally promoting a flexible working space varies from intimate to large, scaled discussion. Social spaces are located at the opposite side of the workstation; promote to move people across the office to create a dynamic community.

The reception design pulls the unique skyscrapers of the city into the backdrop of the Taiwan old street. The design was established to integrate the sense of culture and place with the goal of function and connection. The bricks reflect the unique use of local materials, meanwhile the lanterns seamlessly incorporating the Agoda brand. Each meeting room defined the five iconic colors from Agoda logo with the outline of the cultural element of window frames. The combination of multifunctional space and pantry demonstrates the flexibility of the space with the concept of bringing the outdoors indoors.

Overall, the design seeks origami elements with authentic local materials and ultimately to pull in the natural landscape and skyline into the office. The interior shapes and angles are inspired by the surrounding architecture elements. Finishes and overall color palette reference the branding and the local culture and character. This project reinforces the company’s branding identity and local culture to its new office in Taipei.
