Peninsula is a next-generation mixed-use project in Tijuana located at a prime gateway site just south of the Tijuana International Airport at the crossroads of Via Rapida Poiniente, Via Rapida Oriente, and Highway 2. The triangle-shaped parcel lies between two steams, creating a calming environment filled with abundant landscaping that strikes a balance between modern design and nature.
The massing is very porous from the perimeter, opening multiple sightlines and inviting people in. The buildings have been designed to create a strong identity for individual tenants and eliminate the feel of the traditional mall in every way. The Central Plaza space has abundant shade, with seating, picnic, and viewing areas.
The dynamic mix of offerings has strong spill-out opportunities to enrich the customer experience in a natural setting. The Sky Terraces Zone contains multiple decks on all three levels arrayed amongst vertical tree canopies, which extend the usable roof space. This signature vertical urban oasis space anchors the center of the project.
The iconic sky deck on the upper level provides a place for flexible, changeable space for the tenant to showcase new directions in an outdoor-like setting. This third level attraction helps draw people up and through the project.
