REGENERATION

The idea that "a city is a container of culture," posited by American sociologist Lewis Mumford, is reflected in this design, where the homeowner's identity and personal qualities permeate every aspect and extend beyond. The indoor scenery is inspired by urban surroundings, using controlled lines, plain colors, and appropriate proportions to capture their core spirit. Against a black and white background, the setup of high ceilings, grand windows, and transparent contours lets in the surrounding vista, creating a place filled with dynamic light shades and vivid expressions.

The design philosophy is rooted in the notion of "simplification" - an endeavor to create a new synthesis of the existing building and interior design by using understated colors and materials. This comprehensive approach involves assessing and investigating the original building and subsequently fortifying its structural integrity. In the course of design development, careful attention is given to the unique attributes of each space and user demands, culminating in a restructured floor plan that tactfully interconnects different areas.

Through the use of low-key and subdued color scheme, the beauty of daily life is redefined through the interplay of natural light. The design sought to promote interaction between people and surroundings, creating a living space that balances openness and enclosure, transparency and privacy. Inspired by the principles of De Stijl, the design simplified compositions to reveal artistic plainness and structural beauty, resulting in a real-life masterpiece.
