Sunset Beach

By creating an ambience of a sunset walk by the bench, the design invites visitors to relax not only externally for their facial treatment but also internally and spiritually.



Lighting and colours are both carefully designed to portray the perfect sunset moment. Walking into this facial salon, visitors are greeted by a dim, dusty pink tunnel with thin lights around the skeleton of the arch. Throughout the sides of the tunnel, dry flowers are being placed with raw wood trunks to add softness to the space. A relatively dark entrance with a particularly tilted tunnel is designed to let visitors gradually open up to their internally mindset and prepare for their facial treatment later on.



The angle of the tunnel was designed to be pointed to the corner of the reception table – a sand pit with stones and landscape. A laminated circular glass with LED was designed just above the horizontal line of the reception table, as not only to introduce light to the reception, but also to portray the skeleton of the sun.



The lightings are carefully considered in all the areas next to the window. The existing site condition was a full height window partition, yet the lightings are too direct and less poetic. Curve lines with indirect LED lights are added as a new layer to the space. The sofa area was particularly designed to be opened up, which is served to be a photo corner for KOLs and could overview the sand pit landscape and the whole tunnel at the entrance.



The concept of the sunset extends to each facial treatment room. The rooms were lighted up with a circular lamp as the main light source in the room, just above the horizontal line of the facial beds.
