Zhangjiagang Family Tradition Education Base

Zhangjiagang Family Tradition Education Base Project is located on Tianzhuang Ancient Street, Fenghuang Mountain Scenic Spot. It consists of three ancient buildings, namely Bangyan (the second place in palace examinations) Mansion, Yang’s Arch of filial Piety, and Stele Courtyard. Among them, Bangyan Mansion and Yang’s Arch of filial Piety are known as national key cultural relics protection units. This project integrates display, publicity, education, research, and other functions into one and can be used as a site for civilization practice and cultural tourism for a new era.

Lighting is designed without destroying the original architectural form, decoration, and display styles. Track lighting with adjustable angles is adopted for display on exhibition boards and the main columns are designed with track lighting that is shaped like rectangles, U, and straight lines. The 3,000k warm white light is used as the main color temperature so as to make the indoor and outdoor lighting systems basically consistent. The lighting of the lightbox model takes internal light transmission, mainly 4,200K white light, to increase the display level. For some historic sites in Beiyuan (a set of stele inscriptions), the lighting system and the independent sealed display cabinet are combined to provide local key lighting. The low-power embedded spotlights are used from the top for uniform lighting and the lighting level is designed as low as possible to protect the cultural relics.
