The River

The concept of the interior was inspired by my latest trip to Egypt where I had luck to visit the ancient Luxor city situated on the Nile river. I was impressed by how the River transforms the surrounding scenery. For many hours you drive through a rocky desert and suddenly you find yourself gliding in the fields green luscious sugar cane and thickets of phoenix palms. Sunrays no longer scorch your skin, you simply enjoy the look of them playing in mango trees leaves. The blissful transformation of nature is due to the sacred waters of Nile. I wanted to convey the strong character of water element through the contrast between the sun (fire) and water (ripple), a play of coarse and sleeky textures in the living zone. Smaller rooms develope the idea of a day and a night in the desert (master bedroom and small kid's room), and strokes of Colonial heritage in a guest bathroom and a bigger kid's room.

The 180- square meter apartment is situated in the elite clubhouse "River". The buldings are surrounded by a big park which gives a sense of privacy and tranquility. The apartment contains nine rooms: hallway, spacios living room with kitchen and dining attached, pantry, master bedroom, master wardrobe, master bathroom, guest bathroom, smaller and bigger kids' rooms with a study attached.
Natural wooden floorings and furniture materials were used. Walls are decorated with lime plaster which indicates connection with 'desert living'.
