2023 Taiwan Lantern Festival-Beacons of Light Display Zone

Since 1990, the Taiwan Lantern Festival has been held annually on the Lantern Festival, originally only in Taipei as the "Taipei Lantern Festival". In 2001, it was renamed and moved to various counties and cities across the country, becoming a national-level event. After a 23-year absence, it has returned to its birthplace in Taipei for the 2023 Taiwan Lantern Festival.
The festival will take place in the Taipei Light Exhibition Area, located in the bustling Da'an District between Fuxing South Road and Dunhua South Road on both sides of Section 4 of Zhongxiao East Road. This area serves as a street canvas for artists to freely express themselves with light. The city image of Taipei will be showcased through works from three different levels and viewing angles, including "Freedom‧Capital," "Flowing‧City," and "Impression‧Taipei." A total of 11 artist teams have been invited to light up the city streets for the Taiwan Lantern Festival in a limited space along Zhongxiao East Road.
